Hyundai Stargazer facelift MPV sighted in Indonesia – new styling for Low MPV entrant; debut at GIIAS 2025?

The facelifted Hyundai Stargazer has been sighted on Indonesian roads, through images posted to the rodadotco Instagram account, around the same time Hyundai Indonesia released a teaser of the updated MPV.

These images reveal an exterior that has been extensively revised from the 2022 original, now wearing LED headlamps and tail lamps which bring a new visual signature that is more in line with the lines of the manufacturer’s latest models. Here on the Stargazer facelift, the LED elements form an upright ‘H’ pattern, front and rear.

As such, this arrangement now does away with the single front LED light bar as seen on the Staria, and the bodywork in the front of the vehicle has also been altered to have a more pronounced bonnet thanks to a more horizontal bonnet line, thus providing a more obvious kink where it meets the A-pillars. Its main headlamp units are now above the horizontal DRL elements, too.

The new front-end treatment therefore brings a more pronounced two-box silhouette to the Stargazer facelift, and the wheelarch treatments now appear to be in body colour, rather than a contrasting black plastic finish often used to portray off-roader ruggedness.

At the rear, the Stargazer facelift similarly adopts more right angle treatments to its styling compared to the style of the current model, and the rear licence plate mount has been repositioned from its tailgate location on the pre-facelift, to the rear bumper which gets a more encompassing contrast finish.

Under the skin, the powertrain for the Stagazer facelift could be carried over from the current, pre-update model that packs a 1.5 litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine that outputs 115 PS at 6,300 rpm and 144 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm, driving the front wheels through a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Though Hyundai Indonesia has yet to announce an official launch date for the refreshed MPV in the republic, the 2025 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS 2025) is set to open its doors is set to open its doors later this month, and so that could be the venue for the official unveiling of the Stargazer facelift.
