These "So Delicious" Hot Dogs Are the Best I've Ever Tasted (I'm Cooking Them for Labor Day!)

In the summertime, nothing beats a good hot dog piled high with all the fixings (except maybe homemade vanilla ice cream or a refreshing snow cone). My fiancé is something of a hot dog connoisseur (he really loves them and has a lot of opinions on the subject). He and I were recently discussing the best store-bought hot dogs.
We typically grab our favorite pack at the grocery store, but we tried Mountain View Meats Pepper Jack Hot Dogs from QVC (yep, the same QVC you might watch on TV) earlier in the summer. After finishing off the packs we had, he said he would "actively seek them out instead of settling for what the grocery stores may have." A bold statement. Here's why we'd both opt for these instead.

What's So Great About Mountain View Meats Pepper Jack Hot Dogs?
Based in Oklahoma, the Mountain View Meat Company has been around since 1974, beginning its venture into sausages with the sub-brand Mountain View Meats a few years later. It offers a range of different sausages, including hot links, Polish sausage, and breakfast sausages, as well as ham and hot dogs.

Buy NowAt QVC, you can buy classic pork and beef hot dogs, ones stuffed with pepper jack cheese, or a combo pack to try them both, which is what we did. They are sold in packs of four (six links to a pack), which adds up to 4 pounds (!). If you opt for the combo, like we did, then you'll get two packs of each. No matter which you choose, they all cost $54.
I immediately stashed mine in the fridge when I got them, knowing we'd devour them within a couple of weeks. Unopened, they keep for as long as three months in the fridge or up to six months in the freezer. While the classic dogs were savory with a nice snap, the pepper jack cheese hot dogs tasted unreal.

My Honest Review of Mountain View Meats Pepper Jack Hot Dogs
I'm a big fan of QVC's groceries (and I'm not the only one; our team loves them, too). So it wasn't at all unusual for me to be perusing the site looking for delicious items to add to my fridge and freezer. That's when I found Mountain View Meats' Pepper Jack Hot Dogs. Pepper jack is one of my top three favorite cheeses, so this sounded like an easy win - and let me tell you, it was.
What really stood out to me about these hot dogs was the creamy little cubes of cheese scattered throughout. I've had burgers and hot dogs with cheese mixed in before, and largely I found them underwhelming because the cheese becomes mostly indiscernible. Not these. I was so impressed with the gooey, melty cheese in every bite. The creamy texture it added to the snappy hot dog was perfection.
My fiancé appreciated this, too, adding that the "cheese isn't scorching hot and doesn't squirt out and burn like others I've had in the past." He felt the cheese also complemented the meaty flavor of the pork and beef hot dog.
They're savory and smoky with a slight pepperiness from the cheese. While you could totally add your favorite toppings to these, I preferred just cutting up the links and dipping them in ketchup. If I'd have had some cowboy potato salad on the side, it would've been a perfect summer lunch. Next time!
