Choosing a profession is a pretty important decision, and no matter what you decide to do you'll be looking to get as much experience as possible in order to progress up the career ladder. And it's fair to say that many jobs out there require either a whole lot of qualifications or experience of working in the industry. But how are you meant to make your mark in the world of work if you don't have either? Well it's not all bad news as there are still plenty of decent jobs out there which not only pay good money and offer opportunities to progress but don't require you to have any previous experience. 1. Estate agent

First up, if you're fascinated by property and the business of selling other people's homes, then becoming an estate agent could be the job for you. While it can help to have a university degree or previous experience working in the industry, you don't necessarily need either to nab an entry level position. The Government website reveals a number of ways you can get your estate agent career off to a flying start - from undertaking a number of different apprenticeships to simply learning on the job as a trainee, or even an admin assistant, working your way up from there.

2. Cabin crew

Fancy taking to the skies as a cabin crew member but have no previous experience? No problem! The National Careers Website explains that different airlines have different entry requirements, and while previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role can help they're not essential as you'll have training once you're hired. Or you can apply to do a Cabin Crew Level 3 advanced apprenticeship, a 12-month course which includes on the job training.

3. Web developer

Another one where experience can help but isn't necessary for entry level, the National Careers Service website states that, aside from a number of courses and apprenticeships, you could also start as a junior developer and learn on the job. Meanwhile job website The Muse states that all you need for entry-level is basic coding knowledge - which can be self-taught - while taking on freelance website-building projects for others can also be helpful.

4. Delivery driver

Here's another one where you can undertake an apprenticeship with on the job training, or apply directly. According to the National Careers Service the only things employers will expect you to have are basic English and maths skills, a good driving record and the correct driving licence. They state that experience in previous driving work - or working in storage orwarehouses - can be useful but it's not essential. Bear in mind, however, you'll probably need to work all hours with this one, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

5. Admin assistant

If office work is your thing, becoming an admin assistant could be a surefire way to work up the career ladder - and you don't necessarily need previous experience to get started. The National Careers Service points out you could start this kind of work on a temporary contract via a recruitment agency, and while experience can be helpful, many employers will also provide training.

6. Social media manager

It's strange to think that 20 years ago this job didn't exist but is now highly sought after. And the good news is a career in social media can be yours even if you have no previous experience. The National Careers Service advises that you could start work with a social media or marketing company as an assistant and work your way up, learning on the job - but if you do want to get a feel for the job, volunteering to man social media channels for a local charity, organisation or even your school or uni can be a good start.

7. Barista

This one's pretty obvious, but yes, it is possible to become a coffee dispensing whiz without having previously done the job. Some employers prefer previous experience, while you can also do a number of courses, such as training in barista skills with an organisation such as the Specialty Coffee Association. But in many other cases all you need are people skills and a willingness to learn, and you'll get on the job training.
