The Most-Searched Bridesmaid Dress Color Of 2025 Is A Southern Classic

Weddings are one occasion that still hold strong to tradition, even if we see new (and sometimes controversial) takes on traditional details such as overly ambitious dress codes and virtual RSVPs. However, one tradition you won’t see messed with much in the South is the inclusion of a wedding party.
It’s not uncommon for Southern weddings to have almost comically large wedding parties, all dressed to the nines to support the bride and groom. Now, when it comes to attire, we tend to keep it classic, and it appears we’re not the only ones.
It turns out, the most searched bridesmaid dress color of 2025—and the past decade—is the ultimate classic.
The Top-Trending Bridesmaid Dress Color of 2025

According to a report by Google Trends, the top-trending bridesmaid dress color of 2025 so far has been “powder blue.” And for the past decade, variations of blue have ranked on top for what bridesmaids are searching for. (In 2015, the hue of choice was “dusty blue.”)
Southerners have long favored a classic blue-and-white wedding color combination, and it’s no surprise since some of our favorite things include hydrangeas, Blue Willow china, and dainty toile upholstery that all showcase the winning color duo. Moreover, as avid believers in tradition and superstition, it offers a way to squeeze in your “something blue” on the wedding day. The more luck, the better!
Top-Searched Bridesmaid Dress Color You Didn't See Coming

On quite the other end of the colorway spectrum, the bridesmaid dress color that has seen the biggest spike in search in the past five years has been a surprising one: black. With the recent surge in wedding culture and increase of formal and black tie wedding dress codes, black has become a popular bridesmaid dress choice.
Why? It offers an instant dose of inherent dressiness, while also being easy enough for bridesmaids to shop for and match together, especially if opting for different dress styles in the same color amongst the wedding party. Though we already can hear our Southern grandmothers muttering about the color being a bit too morbid for such a happy occasion, to each their own!
