Top 59+ people, including 21 children, dead in Kerr County flooding

AUSTIN (KXAN) — At least 59 people, including 21 children, have died in flash flooding in Kerr County, Sheriff Larry Leitha said during a Sunday press conference.

Leitha said search and rescue efforts would continue “until everyone is found.” Over 400 first responders from more than 20 agencies continued to work Sunday to find more missing people.

Eleven girls from Camp Mystic, as well as one counselor, remain missing.

Of the 59 people found dead, 18 adults and four children have not yet been identified.

“These numbers will continue to change and increase as time goes on,” Leitha said.
