Road closures, high water reported in Baton Rouge, surrounding areas
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Widespread rain moving through Baton Rouge and surrounding areas due to Invest 93L has caused some roads and highways to shut down on Thursday, July 17.
A flood watch will be in effect until 1 a.m. Saturday for parishes around the Baton Rouge area.
Drivers are advised to use caution when traveling.
Below is a list of areas with high waters or downed power lines.
Ascension Parish
- Downed trees and power lines have been reported near the intersection of Devall Road and Joe Sevario Road. The road remains blocked.


East Baton Rouge Parish
- High water was reported on Cuyhanga Parkway between Monterrey Boulevard and Hermosa Drive.
