BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Widespread rain moving through Baton Rouge and surrounding areas due to Invest 93L has caused some roads and highways to shut down on Thursday, July 17.

A flood watch will be in effect until 1 a.m. Saturday for parishes around the Baton Rouge area.

Drivers are advised to use caution when traveling.

Below is a list of areas with high waters or downed power lines.

Ascension Parish

Downed trees and power lines have been reported near the intersection of Devall Road and Joe Sevario Road. The road remains blocked.

East Baton Rouge Parish

High water was reported on Cuyhanga Parkway between Monterrey Boulevard and Hermosa Drive.
