White House sparks outrage with deportation video
Just when you thought the White House’s social feeds couldn’t get more bizarre.
Its official X and Instagram feeds today shared a video showing people in handcuffs being ushered onto ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) deportation flights with the viral Jet2 Holidays meme over the top.
The jingle, which mixes Jess Glynne’s hit ‘Hold My Hand’ with a voice over from former Hollyoaks actress Zoe Lister, has become this summer’s social media trend.
The White House’s X post is captioned: ‘When ICE books you a one-way Jet2 holiday to deportation. Nothing beats it!’
The video, which has over 2 million views, shows immigration officers dragging people of vans and parading them onto planes bound for foreign countries.

The clip also features a screenshot of the US government app CBP Home, which is being used to allow migrants currently in the United States to self-deport.
It ends with president Donald Trump smirking and giving a thumbs up to the camera.
The US President came into office in January promising the largest deportation effort in the country’s history.
Unsurprisingly, the post, which attempts to praise Trump’s migration strategy, was met with shock online.

Journalist Will Lancaster said: ‘Had to double, and then triple check, at who posted this.
‘It actually IS the official White House page, using a British airline advert trend to boast about deporting immigrants from their country, even including a Trump cameo at the end.
‘Lost for words,’ he added.
Gavin Wilson commented that the video ‘is insane’.
He added: ‘The world is losing its grip on reality.’
Another user branded the video ‘disgusting’.
