Ann Arbor track regionals: Meet the girls state finals qualifiers

ANN ARBOR –It was a good day for Ann Arbor-area girls track and field stars hoping to punch their tickets to the state finals.

Dozens of athletes hit qualifying marks in last week’s regional competition, while two teams came away with team titles.

Ann Arbor Huron and Whitmore Lake earned regional championships in Division 1 and Division 4, respectively to lead the way among area teams.

Huron claimed the D1 regional crown with victories in four events, including three relay races, while Whitmore Lake dominated its D4 region with seven first-place finishes.

Here is a look at how area teams fared as well as every state qualifier from the Ann Arbor area.

Athletes qualified for the state finals by finishing in the top two of their respective divisions or by reaching the state qualifying mark for the event.
