The 10 cars from May 2025 you shouldn’t have missed
BMW Speedtop

BMW is a big fan of the Concorso d'Eleganza at Villa d'Este on the shores of Lake Como in Italy. Following the Skytop in 2024, here comes the Speedtop. It's not really a concept, but rather the prototype of a shooting brake that will be sold in just 70 units. This two-seater vehicle, with dedicated spaces for Schedoni leather goods bags, is based on the M8 Competition. It’s powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 delivering 625hp.
Bovensiepen Zagato

Part of the Alpina team, now integrated into the BMW sphere, has been working on a luxury coupé revealed at Villa d’Este in Cernobbio. Designed in collaboration with the Italian coachbuilder Zagato, hence the name, this car is based on a BMW M4. Its 3.0-litre inline-six twin-turbo engine has been boosted: 611hp and 700Nm!
BMW M2 CS

Also presented at Villa d’Este in Italy is the BMW M2 CS. The compact coupé comes with an ultra-sporty and ultra-lightweight setup. This Munich machine burns rubber with a six-cylinder engine delivering 550hp and 650Nm, driving the rear wheels through either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Its 1775kg go from 0 to 100km/h in 3.8 seconds. One for those with their licence on the edge…
Alpine A390

Here’s a sporty family electric SUV born in Dieppe (France). The Alpine A390 is a new chapter for Jean Rédélé’s brand. It features three motors: one at the front and two at the rear. Firepower of 400hp in GT form or 470hp in GTS. For the latter, torque reaches 808Nm. With its 89kWh battery, the French SUV boasts a range of up to 555km. DC fast charging tops out at 190kW.
Nissan Micra

The new Micra remains a cheerful-looking city car—but it’s now 100% electric. That’s because this little Japanese model is Nissan’s take on the Renault 5 E-Tech. Two motors will be available: 90kW (122hp) or 110kW (150hp), along with two battery options: 40kWh and 52kWh. With the larger battery, the Micra can hope for up to 408km between charges.
Toyota RAV4

The 6th generation Toyota RAV4 now features distinctive LED lights shaped like crab claws. The SUV aims for a more robust feel. It comes with a plug-in hybrid powertrain giving 100km of electric driving range. The Japanese brand hasn’t abandoned classic hybrid options either. Both variations use a 2.5-litre petrol four-cylinder. Inside, the dashboard is completely overhauled with two screens.
Toyota bz4x Touring

Toyota has updated its bz4x electric SUV in hopes of giving it a new lease of life. And, in the process, the brand has pulled a rabbit out of the hat: the bz4x Touring. It’s a kind of SUV estate. It’s grown by 14cm in length and 2cm in height to offer more boot space. With a cargo area of 600 litres under the parcel shelf, it packs a 74.7kWh battery for a maximum official WLTP range of 560 km, in the two-wheel-drive 165kW (224hp) version. In all-wheel-drive form, power rises to 280kW (380hp) for speedy deliveries.
Renault R4 Savane

This is a concept based on the new electric Renault 4. But it so strongly evokes the 4L spirit, it’s a real nostalgia trip. The study was presented on the sidelines of the Roland Garros tournament, for which Renault is a partner. This R4 gets a second motor for all-wheel drive. Its ground clearance is raised by 1.5cm and it’s fitted with Goodyear UltraGrip Performance+ tyres to leave its mark everywhere—not just on clay courts.
Fiat Grande Panda 4x4 Manifesto

Here’s Fiat’s answer in kind. Like Renault, Fiat shows it can also transform its electric city car into an off-road enthusiast. This concept also nods to the legendary Panda 4x4 that’s everywhere in the Italian Alps and beyond. To help it climb, the Grande Panda has received a second motor to drive the rear wheels, it’s lifted, and fitted with protective panels to cope with ruts, snow and rocks.
DS N°4

After unveiling the DS N°8 at the Brussels Motor Show in January, here comes the N°4. This time, it’s a facelift of the DS4, with the new naming convention. The compact saloon with French luxury now comes with mild hybrid (145hp) and plug-in hybrid (225hp—81km electric range) powertrains. It also debuts an electric E-Tense variant with 157kW (213hp) and a 450km WLTP range. A future star number?
