East Texas man wins truck after buying single $100 Tyler Cattle Baron's raffle ticket
A single raffle ticket turned into a brand-new truck for one lucky East Texan.
Isachar Perez, of Gladewater, walked away with a 2025 GMC Canyon 4x4 — after buying just one —$100 ticket.
His entry supported the 2025 Cattle Baron’s Ball, the American Cancer Society’s biggest fundraiser in Tyler. Perez's family has a history with cancer, and he can't wait to show his mother what his donation turned into.
"Well, my mom she has been through leukemia, had cancer in her brain, had her kidney removed, her gallbladder removed. She has struggled through a lot," Perez said. "My brother-in-law passed away from cancer. She has always pushed me to support the association and support anything else. Hopefully when I do take it to her she is as excited as I am."
Pam and Gerry Hall drew the winning ticket on the night of the ball.
The truck, valued at more than $53,000, was the 18th Hall Buick GMC have generously donated over the last two decades.
"It is a great feeling to think that over those years it's just about a million dollars and it's something that is going to help in the fight against cancer and in the eradication of the disease and helping people get through the treatments," said Pam Hall, Hall Buick GMC owner.
All of the tickets sold raised more than $54,000 to support cancer research and patient care.
