A ranking with surprising world cities in it

When we travel, hospitality plays a major role in how comfortable we feel at our destination. Booking.com has now published a ranking of the 10 most hospitable places in the world for 2025. For one, a German city has made it into the top ranking (photo).

The ranking is based on the Traveller Review Award, for which around 360 million customer reviews were evaluated.

10th place: Chester, United Kingdom

Architecture fans will get their money's worth in Chester, as the city is home to an exciting mix of Roman, medieval, and Tudor architecture, according to Travelbook.de. The city is also the one in the United Kingdom with the oldest, longest, and best-preserved city wall.
9th place: Koh Lanta, Thailand

Koh Lanta is a double island in the southwest of Thailand. With this scenery, it's no wonder that the locals here are open and friendly.
8th place: Quedlingburg, Germany

Quedlinburg has made it into the top 10 most hospitable places in the world. The city in Saxony-Anhalt, with around 24,000 inhabitants, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has over a million visitors per year.
7th place: Manizales, Colombia

The city, founded in 1849, is rich in cultural events, such as a theater festival. It is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, volcanoes, and coffee-growing areas.

The picturesque town with almost 20,000 inhabitants is known for its underground city, which consists of artificial caves, tunnels, and cellars.
5th place: St. Augustine, United States
