This Wisconsin bakery has been voted America's best pie shop
Wisconsin takes the cake in a national pie competition — with the winner of the USA TODAY 10BEST Readers’ Choice Awards.
Every week, USA TODAY 10BEST invites industry experts to nominate their favorite points of interest across a wide range of categories. Editors vet nominations, select final nominees and ask the public to decide in a four-week voting period. For the second consecutive year, Stockholm Pie and General Store has been voted America's Best Pie Shop. Another Wisconsin favorite, Norske Nook, took fourth place this year.

Find anywhere from 15 to 20 varieties of pies made from scratch including French silk, eggnog custard and praline pecan shown here at Stockholm Pie & General Store.
Located along the Mississippi River in “a tiny, magical village” in Pepin County, Stockholm Pie and General Store is all about nostalgia. In a building more than 100 years old that combines marketplace, cafe and bakery, Stockholm makes its pies from scratch with a grandma’s recipes, from standard fruit pies to a daring raisin sour cream pie.
Stockholm Pie and General ships its products nationally. Oh, and it does wedding pies, too.
Open since 1973, Norske Nook is known for its Norwegian baking and the 50 blue ribbons it has accrued in Florida’s National Pie Championship. Its most familiar winners include peaches and cream pie, blueberry crunch, and chocolate mousse. Its more inventive pies include root beer float and blueberry lemonade.
Norske Nook has multiple locations — or “a foursome of revered pie shrines” (according the official cookbook) — in Osseo, Rice Lake, Eau Claire and Hayward.
