Bruce stated, “We are aware of last night’s attack on Kyiv that resulted in numerous casualties, including the tragic death of a U.S. citizen.” She added, “We condemn those strikes and extend our deepest condolences to the victims and to the families of all those affected.”

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed the American was found in a house near the strike site. Klitschko highlighted ongoing Russian aerial attacks and rising pressure on Ukraine’s defenses.

The Russians destroyed an entire section of the apartment block. In total, buildings in eight districts of Kyiv have been damaged."
