A city girl moves to the country in My Life With the Walter Boys, Netflix's buzzy teen drama about love and family in the great wide open.
My Life With the Walters Boys is an adaptation of Ali Novak's 2014 novel of the same name. The book began life on Wattpad, the same online story-sharing hub that produced Beth Reekles' The Kissing Booth, which was also adapted by Netflix.
Fans of series like The Summer I Turned Pretty and The Vampire Diaries will likely find plenty to like about My Life With the Walter Boys, which, like those other titles, puts its protagonist at the center of a love triangle involving two brothers.
Here, 15-year-old Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez) moves from Manhattan to Silver Falls, Colo., after her wealthy parents and sister die in a car accident. A stranger in a strange land, Jackie moves in with the Walter family, led by George (Marc Blucas) and Katherine (Sarah Rafferty), the latter her mother's best friend from college.
George and Katherine are raising a house of boys (and one girl). Two of the Walter boys capture her eye: bookworm Alex (Ashby Gentry) and ex-jock Cole (Noah LaLonde), who smolders with feathered bangs and a troubled soul.
Season 1, which debuted in 2023, was a huge hit for Netflix, reaching the streamer's top 10 list in 88 different countries. Now, roughly a year and a half since its debut, fans are getting antsy for the next chapter in the saga.

Will there be a season 2 of My Life With the Walter Boys?

Not only will there be a season 2 of My Life With the Walter Boys, but there will also be a third season.
Cool, but when is season 2 of My Life With the Walter Boys coming out?

Netflix has yet to announce a release date for My Life With the Walter Boys season 2, though it has confirmed a 2025 release date.
How did My Life With the Walter Boys season 1 end?

By the season 1 finale, Jackie was dating Alex while still pining for Cole, whom she initially fell for upon arriving in Silver Falls. After Alex drunkenly told her he loved her, she refused to reciprocate, breaking his heart.
Jackie, after learning that the handy Cole had fixed her late sister's teapot without her knowing, sought him out and planted a kiss on him.
But it all proved too much for Jackie, who hopped on a plane back to New York with her uncle Richard (Alex Quijano).
What is My Life With the Walter Boys season 2 about?

Fear not, season 2 won't keep Jackie, Alex, and Cole separate for long. "When Katherine convinces her to return to Colorado, Jackie is determined to make amends with Alex and set boundaries with Cole while finding her place within the Walter family," reads the season 2 logline. "But fitting back in isn’t that easy. Alex — who changed a lot over the summer — isn’t too thrilled about Jackie’s attempts to reconnect, as he’s focused on training for a risky rodeo event (and enjoying all of the new attention he’s getting).”
It continues, "Cole takes on a new role at school, but when that doesn’t quite fill the void left by not playing football, his old ways creep back in and cause drama. As Jackie gains acceptance in Silver Falls while trying to hold onto her Howard identity, she’s forced to make a choice that could destroy everything she’s worked to rebuild."
But you can also expect to see more from the extended Walter family in season 2. In a November 2024 interview with Teen Vogue, Gentry said a "beautiful part" of season 2 is how it highlights the "flawed" side of the Walter boys. "You get to see all of them go through screw-ups in season 2," he told the outlet. "And it's awesome."
He added, "There was some criticism about our characters being one note or pigeonholed into an archetype. I can confidently say that's completely gone in season 2. And you do get to see their flaws. The Walter boys are all so messed up, and none of them can do relationships right."
Who's in the cast of My Life With the Walter Boys season 2?

David Brown/Netflix Marc Blucas, Connor Stanhope, Myles Perez, Alix West Lefler, Lennix James, Dean Petriw on 'My Life with the Walter Boys'
In addition to the returning cast, including Rodriguez, LaLonde, Gentry, Rafferty, and Blucas, season 2 of My Life With the Walter Boys will introduce five new characters, three of whom are new love interests for the extended cast.
Alex, for example, gets another potential love interest in Maria, played by Riele Downs (Bel-Air). And another Walter brother finds himself drawn to Natalie Sharp (The Flash), a champion rodeo rider.
Guitar-strumming Walter boy Nathan (Corey Fogelmanis) will spend the season getting to know Zach. Played by Carson MacCormac (Locke & Key), Zach is described as "a strikingly handsome senior who's commanding and a bit dangerous."
The two other newbies are Janet Kidder (Star Trek: Discovery) and Jake Manley (iZombie). Kidder plays Joanne Wagner, a friend of Katherine's and the mother of Grace (Ellie O’Brien). Manley's Wylder Holt will cross paths with Alex in the rodeo arena.

Speaking of Alex, it's his character who will see one of the biggest transformations this season. "[Alex] is practically a new person [in season 2], and in a way, it’s great," he told Teen Vogue. "I sometimes miss season 1 Alex because it does feel a little bit like he's gone... I'm a little worried for fans of Alex because he is not the same person anymore. That Alex from season 1 is not coming back."
