Who's in the Royal Box at Wimbledon? David Beckham among celebrities on Centre Court on day one

Sir David Beckham was among the first famous faces spotted at Wimbledon as the world’s most prestigious tennis tournament got underway in SW19.

The former England football captain who was recently knighted, arrived at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club with his mum Sandra.

The 50-year-old looked effortlessly stylish in a full-canvas, double-breasted suit in off-white silk-linen, styled with a blue micro-stripe cotton shirt and a dark brown knitted silk-linen tie from his BECKHAM x BOSS collection.

Beckham happily posed for photos and greeted staff before taking his seat in the Royal Box. He also posed for a selfie with tennis legend Maria Sharapova, which was shared on X account OneTennis.

The pair were among the early celebrity arrivals helping to launch the opening day of this year’s tournament.

It marked a special outing for Mrs Beckham, who appeared delighted to be enjoying a day courtside with her son. The pair have often been spotted at Wimbledon over the years, with David calling it one of his “favourite events of the summer.”

Also in attendance was former England football manager Sir Gareth Southgate, who arrived solo and gave a friendly wave to spectators.

Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne was seen arriving in a smart suit with wife Hannah and appeared in good spirits as he joined the action from the stands. A long-time Wimbledon fan, Redmayne is regularly spotted at Centre Court throughout the fortnight.

Cricket star Stuart Broad, who retired from professional play in 2023, also made an appearance in the Royal Box with fiancee and the Saturdays singer Mollie King.

Now carving out a career in commentary, Broad looked relaxed as he chatted with fellow guests and enjoyed the sunshine.
