China Activates Emergency Flood Response in Five Provinces
National Alert Issued

On Thursday, China’s State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters activated a Level-IV emergency response to address ongoing and forecasted flooding in five provinces. This announcement was made by the Ministry of Emergency Management.
Provinces Under Watch

The emergency measures specifically target the provinces of Liaoning, Sichuan, Yunnan, Gansu, and Qinghai, all of which are expected to experience severe weather. Heavy rainfall is forecast across these regions between July 3 and July 6.
Rainfall Intensifies Flood Risk

Meteorological reports predict that Liaoning, eastern areas of northwest China, western Sichuan Basin, and Yunnan will see heavy to torrential rains. In particular, parts of Sichuan and Yunnan that have already experienced significant rain are now facing heightened disaster risk due to accumulated precipitation.
Focus on High-Risk Areas

A Ministry of Emergency Management official emphasized the importance of preventive action and rapid response in areas prone to mountain torrents, geological hazards, and waterlogging. Special attention is being directed toward flood management for small and medium-sized reservoirs, rivers, and both urban and rural drainage systems.
China's Emergency Response System

China operates a four-tier emergency response system, with Level I representing the highest level of severity. The current Level-IV activation signals a coordinated national effort to mitigate the risks posed by the ongoing and predicted heavy rainfall.
