What songs did Chris Stapleton play July 9 in Greenville? Nikki Lane? See setlists, photos
Ten-time Grammy award winner Chris Stapleton performed to a sold-out crowd at his All-American Road Show on Wednesday, June 9, at Greenville's Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
Here's what to know about Lane and both artists' setlists.
Who is Nikki Lane?
Lane is known as Nashville's outlaw country queen and does well mixing "the honky-tonk atmosphere of vintage country with the clever bite of indie, rock," according to her website. Many know the singer best for "Breaking Up Slowly," where she sang alongside Del Rey on the pop sensation's "Chemtrails Over The Country Club" album. But the Greenville-born singer has paved her own lane with her own songs, like "Right Time," which has over 13 million streams on Spotify.
"Highway Queen" is an anthem that gives first-time listeners a taste of Lane's outlaw style, her twangy, smoky vocals giving sway to lyrics like "She's a Siren, leaves you pining/Haunts your mind like a melody/If you can tie her down, you can bottle lightning/But the highway queen needs no king."
In 2017, Lane won an Ameripolitan Music Award in the category Outlaw Country Female.
Lane's latest single, "Woodruff City Limit," was released on June 6. When she's not in the studio, she can be found creating cowboy chic clothing for her Nashville-based shop, "High Class Hillbilly."
