Back in March, Donald Trump took to Truth Social to angrily complain about an unflattering portrait of him that had surfaced in Colorado, calling it a piece of "trash." But it appears the former president no longer needs to dwell on that image.

In an unexpected twist, Russian President Vladimir Putin has presented Trump with a new portrait—this one far more flattering and regal in its depiction. While the original artwork may have bruised Trump's ego, it seems he now has a more complimentary piece to hang on his wall, courtesy of the Kremlin.

A personal gift from Putin to Trump

As reported by the BBC, Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin's spokesman, confirmed that Putin had given the portrait to President Trump as a "personal gift." However, Dmitry said only Putin could provide further details about the gift.

Peskov confirmed the gift while American and Russian negotiators resumed discussions in Saudi Arabia in March, part of Trump's efforts to bring an end to the war in Ukraine, which have yet to produce any results.

Witkoff was Putin's errand boy

It seems that Putin gave the portrait to Steve Witkoff, Trump's envoy to Moscow. Per the BBC, Witkoff confirmed that he received the artwork while in Moscow and was asked to take it back to the White House.

Trump was "clearly touched" by Putin's gesture

Witkoff said the painting was "a beautiful portrait" by a "leading Russian artist," adding that Trump was "clearly touched" by the thoughtful present from Putin.

Things are warming up

This gift to Trump from Putin makes it clear that relations between the United States and Russia are not nearly as frosty as they were some months ago when Joe Biden resided in the White House.

Trump's rant about a Colorado painting of him

According to the BBC, Trump has yet to comment officially on the Russian portrait. However, he certainly had a lot to say about an unflattering one hanging in Colorado.

Trump has cultivated his "look" and it is VERY important to him

It's clear that Trump pays a lot of attention to his appearance, and a post he shared on his social media platform, Truth Social, on March 24th at 1:26 am reveals just how much he worries about how others perceive him, to the point where it keeps him awake at night!

"Intentionally distorted"

Trump voiced his discontent on Truth Social regarding an unflattering portrait of himself. He stated, "Nobody likes a bad picture or painting of themselves, but the one in Colorado, hanging in the State Capitol and displayed by the Governor alongside all the other Presidents, was intentionally distorted to a degree that I, perhaps, have never encountered before."

Why isn't he as handsome as Obama?

The President of America expressed skepticism about the talent of the artist who painted his portrait. He remarked, "The same artist portrayed President Obama beautifully, but the likeness of me is frankly disappointing. Perhaps her skills have diminished over time."

Doing it for the people of Colorado

Trump asserted that he was raising the issue because Colorado citizens were displeased with the display of what he called an unflattering portrait of him. "In any event, I would much prefer not having a picture than having this one, but many people from Colorado have called and written to complain. In fact, they are actually angry about it!"

Shame! Shame!

He continued, "I am speaking on their behalf to the Radical Left Governor, Jared Polis, who is extremely weak on Crime, in particular with respect to Tren de Aragua, which practically took over Aurora (Don't worry, we saved it!), to take it down. Jared should be ashamed of himself!"
