Stage 9 coming up

In yesterday's 8th stage of the Tour de France, Jonathan Milan ended Italy's long drought of stage wins. Let's have a look at the top 10 in the GC ahead of stage 9.
10: Mattias Skjelmose - Lidl-Trek

Danish rider Mattias Skjelmose entered the top 10 after stage 7, at 3’ 43” behind yellow jersey Pogacar. The Lidl-Trek rider is looking to strengthen his top 10 position in a treacherous stage 8.
8: Florian Lipowitz - Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe

Despite being seen as Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe’s domestique, Lipowitz has overtaken Roglic in the GC standings after a stage six which the German described as, “a super hard day from the start,” per IDLProcycling UK. He now sits at 3’ 02” behind Pogacar ahead of stage 9.
7: Oscar Onley - Team Picnic-PostNL

At just 22, Oscar Onley is proving what a talent he is, sitting in seventh place, 2’ 49” behind the leader.
6: Matteo Jorgenson - Team Visma-Lease a Bike

The American rider is putting together a strong Tour so far as he attempts to lift his teammate, Jonas Vingegaard, to another yellow jersey. From an individual standpoint, he will be hoping to do even better than his 8th place finish in last year’s Tour. Jorgenson follows 1’ 34” behind Pogacar.
5: Mathieu van der Poel - Alpecin-Deceuninck

After an excellent opening week, Belgian-born Dutchman Mathieu van der Poel has dropped to fifth in the GC, 1’ 29” behind the leader.
4: Jonas Vingegaard - Team Visma-Lease a Bike

Sitting just ahead of MVDP, Danish rider Jonas Vingegaard has work to do if he wants to win his third Tour de France, with already a gap of 1’ 17” between him and Pogacar.
3: Kévin Vauquelin - Arkéa-B&B

An excellent ride in stage five’s time trial saw France's Kévin Vauquelin rise to third in the general classification, which is also his current position in the GC after stage 8. He is currently 1’ 11” behind Pogacar.
2: Remco Evenepoel - Soudal Quick-Step

Belgian superstar Remco Evenepoel used all his power to dominate the stage five time trial, and several other solid performances see him sitting second in the GC, 54” behind Pogacar. Can he make cycling-crazy Belgium dream of a TDF win?
