Some places around the world are haunted by the wreckage of planes which crashed or were forced to make emergency landings there. The shells of these former planes all have a different reason for ending up where they did, but while some of these are known, others still remain a mystery. In 2004 the series 'Lost' told the story of a group of people stuck on a desert island after a plane crash.
In several scenes, we can see some impressive plane wreckage, which was created and scattered on a Hawaiian island specifically for filming.

But not all the plane wrecks around the world have such a clear reason for being there. Let's take a look at some real life cases, which sometimes are as puzzling as mystery movies.
