The weather might be hot at the moment but the content on Netflix is positively sizzling - particularly on the film front. Yep, it's been a busy old week for fans of the streaming platform's movies, with many of us looking to beat the heat by sticking on one of their latest releases, racking up viewing figures by the ton. First up, we have this Hindi-language romantic comedy drama, scoring an impressive number of streams in its first week of release. Aap Klaisa Koi centres on the relationship between a middle-aged Sanskrit professor who lives life by the rules, and a free-spirited French teacher. Next up, we have this 2021 sci-fi flick starring Mark Wahlberg as Evan, a reincarnated human who can remember everything from his past life. Moving down the charts this week is this 2020 release, which has enjoyed a surge in popularity following the release of its sequel. Based on Greg Rucka's comic book series, The Old Guard follows a group of mercenaries who are centuries-old immortals with the ability to heal themselves. 7. Trainwreck: The Real Project X - 7,400,000 views

The Trainwreck series of documentary films has been doing great business lately - and here's the latest effort to land on our screens, slamming straight into the chart with a healthy number of views. The Real Project X centres on the chaos that unfolded in the small town town of Haren in 2012 after a girl planning her 16th birthday party on Facebook accidentally made the invite public. 6. Ziam - 9,200,000 views

Smashing straight into the charts at number six is this action horror offering from Thailand, set in a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by climate change. The plot centres on a former Muay Thai fighter turned truck driver, whose dreams of settling down peacefully with his girlfriend come under threat when the hospital where she works is overrun by zombies. 5. Almost Cops - 10,900,000 views

Another new entry now, this time in the shape of this Dutch buddy cop comedy set in Rotterdam. The 'almost cops' of the title are a special investigator and a reckless demoted ex-detective, who reluctantly join forces to hunt down a killer. There's nothing here you won't have seen many times before, but it's a lot of fun - and the viewing figures speak for themselves (Picture: Netflix)

4. The Old Guard 2 - 16,000,000 views

In most weeks The Old Guard 2's enormous viewing figures would be enough to land it another week in the top spot - but not this week. The sequel to the 2020 film sees Andy, one of the mercenaries, lead her fellow immortal warriors against a powerful enemy that threatens to destroy their group. 3. Brick - 18,200,000

Into the top three we go with the biggest non-English language movie of the week - a film which has been described as 'the ultimate grandmother of all bad movies ever made’ yet has still notched up a seriously impressive amount of viewers in its debut week. The German sci-fi thriller follows couple Tim and Olivia, who find themselves trapped in their apartment block after a mysterious, impenetrable brick wall springs up outside their door. 2. Madea's Destination Wedding - 19,100,000 views

Tyler Perry's on a Netflix roll at the moment following the enormous success of his psychological thriller Straw - but his latest release for the platform, new into the charts in the runner-up slot, couldn't be more different. The actor/director once again slips into the role of mouthy matriarch Medea, this time heading to the Bahamas, as the daughter of Madea's nephew Brian (also played by Perry) prepares to tie the knot with a rapper. Climbing to the number one spot this week is this animated musical fantasy which has proven that K-Pop is the gift that keeps on giving. Demon Hunters follows Huntrix, a world-renowned K-pop girl band who are living their best lives in the spotlight and making music for their millions of adoring fans.
