Frozen Love thawing? Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham make nice on socials
First, they followed each other on Instagram, sending shockwaves through the multiverse of Fleetwood Mac enthusiasts familiar with the famously contentious nature of the former lovers' strained relationship, as chronicled in countless classic songs.
Then, on Thursday, July 17, Nicks shared a post on X quoting a line from “Frozen Love,” a song they recorded as Buckingham Nicks before they hitched their sails to Fleetwood Mac.
“And if you go forward…,” Nicks posted, to which Buckingham responded 30 minutes later with his own post, also quoting “Frozen Love.”
“I’ll meet you there,” he posted.
Even Mick Fleetwood got in on the 'Frozen Love' posting
And this is a day after Mick Fleetwood posted a video that shows him listening to “Frozen Love” on Instagram.
The caption to the Fleetwood video?
“Magic then, magic now.”
So what exactly does this mean?

Could this mean a Fleetwood Mac reunion tour?
Are Nicks and Buckingham teasing a reunion of the four surviving members of the classic “Rumours” lineup?
In 2023, Nicks said she saw no reason to do Fleetwood Mac again without Christine McVie, who had died a year earlier.
As Nicks told Vulture, “When Christine died, I felt like you can’t replace her. You just can’t. Without her, what is it? You know what I mean? She was like my soul mate, my musical soul mate, and my best friend that I spent more time with than any of my other best friends outside of Fleetwood Mac. Christine was my best friend."
She’s had two extra years to process her grief since then.
And at the time, that strained relationship had bottomed out so badly that Fleetwood Mac gave Buckingham his walking papers and recruited two guitarists – Neil Finn and Mike Campbell – to replace him on a massive world tour that ran from 2018-2019.

Could Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham reunite as Buckingham Nicks?
If Nicks and Buckingham are making nice on social media, what’s to stop them from touring together again?
And if Nicks still doesn’t want to tour with Fleetwood Mac out of respect for what McVie meant to the world, that wouldn’t stop her from doing a Buckingham Nicks tour, playing Fleetwood Mac songs, solo hits and highlights of the album she and Buckingham recorded as Buckingham Nicks – the one with “Frozen Love.”
I would be first in line to buy a ticket to that tour.
“And if you go forward, I’ll meet you there,” as they say.

It has been 36 years since Fleetwood Mac released the soft-rock masterpiece that even now remains their calling card, the 11-times-platinum “Rumours.” And with Christine McVie returning to the fold, this marks the first time since her 1998 departure that all five members of the “Rumours” lineup will be present and accounted for. Among their many hits are the chart-topping “Dreams,” “Don’t Stop” “Hold Me,” “Big Love” and “Little Lies.” | DETAILS: 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10. Is the Buckingham Nicks album finally being released?
Or could they be teasing the long-awaited release of that self-titled album by Buckingham Nicks, which has been out of print for decades. You can’t stream it. You can’t download it. It was never released on CD.
Could that be it? That would also be a big deal in the world of Fleetwood Mac.
Or maybe it just means Buckingham and Nicks have found some peace in their relationship at last. And even if it’s only for the moment, that’s enough that I know I got chills when I saw Nicks’ post and had to pick my jaw up off the floor when I saw Buckingham respond.
This is a beautiful day to be a Fleetwood Mac fan.
