Ready for sweater weather? See Old Farmer's Almanac fall forecast for SC, the South
Residents who live in South Carolina know the weather has no chill, with summer highs reaching well into the 90s.
Some residents are already looking forward to the brief autumn season, when being outdoors in the state is more bearable.
Last week, the Old Farmer's Almanac released its fall 2025 weather predictions. Those looking forward to a cool down during the season may have to take the brunt of the heat for a little while longer.
"Your trek to the pumpkin patch may be a bit steamy this year." the Almanac warned.
Here's what to know about fall weather in the South.
The Almanac's fall weather forecast for the Southeast
Fall weather in the Southeast will be warmer than normal this year, according to the Almanac. Rainfall will also be below average.
- September: Average temperature 78 degrees (3 degrees above normal); 4 inches rain (1 inch below normal). Mostly warm, stormy conditions with a cooler finish.
- October: Average temperature 64 degrees (1 degree below normal); 1.5 inches rain (1.5 inches below normal). Sunny and warm early. Light showers mid-month with a cooler end.
The Almanac's fall weather predictions for the Deep South
The Almanac predicts warmer than normal fall temperatures with below-normal rainfall in the north and near-normal amounts in the Deep South.
- September: Average temperature 79 degrees (2 degrees above normal). Hot and sunny early. Scattered thunderstorms mid-month. Cooler with sunshine to end.
- October: Average temperature 65 degrees (1 degree below normal); 2.5 inches rain (drier north, wetter south). Warm and sunny early and late in the month. Storms and showers mid-month.
