How They Met: It was 'love at first sight' for Yvonne Connolly and John Conroy
Everyone was rooting for Yvonne Connolly to find love again after Ronan Keating and she has struck gold with John Conroy.
John and Yvonne have her daughter Missy to thank for their romance as it blossomed on the set of one of her acting projects.
Missy starred in the horror movie Dark Touch, which was released in 2013, and while she acted, her mother fell head over heels for the horror movie's cinematographer, John. The model mum revealed to EVOKE how her romance blossomed.

How they met
'It was Missy's first movie,' Yvonne recalled, as she explained how chaperoning her daughter landed their family something much more special than a single film credit.
'I first met John on a film set in 2011 and my daughter was acting in it, she had the lead role, and I was introduced to John. He was the DP which means he shoots the movie, and for me, it was love at first sight,' the stunning broadcaster stated.
'It was probably not until the end of the movie that we probably all went to Sweden for about three weeks to shoot after shooting in Ireland and that's when I really got to know him.'

'When you're on a movie set, three weeks feels like three years, so I felt like I really knew him by the end of that. It went on for a couple of months and it wasn't until the very end of the shoot that we went out on a date and we did.
'Neither of us expected too much because we were both just out of relationships and here we are nine years later.'

The happy couple is still as loved up as ever and John supported Yvonne after a horrific horse riding accident left her with facial scarring and needing surgery in November 2019.
'It feels SO SO good to be reunited with my love. I ran into his arms crying like a child when he arrived,' Yvonne told her followers at the time.
'Happily unmarried'

While they're more than happy together, Yvonne and John won't be tying the knot anytime soon as they are 'very happily unmarried'. But there is hope. 'But I am also the type of person to say, “Never say never”. But no we have no plans,' Yvonne told EVOKE.
In January 2022, the former model put her Malahide home on the market and is hoping to make Kildare her permanent base. John is also based in Naas but spent much of 2022 working in America.

She wrote: 'Happy birthday to the love of my life !!!! You truly are one of a kind John and I’m the luckiest woman to have shared over 10 years of my life with you. So much of it spent laughing. We’ve made the best memories.'

Yvonne was bursting at the seams with pride when John's latest project Zero Day landed him a nod at the 2025 Emmys.
The show, which stars Hollywood icon Robert De Niro, has received a nomination in the Emmys' Limited or Anthology Series or Movie category.
When it was released on Netflix earlier in the year, Yvonne said: ''It's [the show] the reason I was lucky enough to spend so much time in NY and was privileged to visit him on a set. What a cast.
'John I’m so proud of you. Your talent and vision are extraordinary.'
