PBR's Last Cowboy Standing bull riding showcase debuts at CSU's Canvas Stadium

The first night of PBR's Last Cowboy Standing showcase event debuted July 21 on the Canvas Stadium dirt at Colorado State University.

It was just the first night of the two-day pro bull riding event in Fort Collins, but there were fireworks. Quite literally, as the event began with the letters PBR lit ablaze on the dirt as fireworks shot into the dusk.

PBR rider Clay Guiton is introduced before night one of PBR's Last Cowboy Standing showcase event on July 21, 2025 at CSU's Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins, Colo.

From there, it was down to some serious bull riding business.

The top 20 riders by score advanced to the final rounds (July 22, 7:30 p.m.), with $100,000 of the $200K prize purse going to the winner.

After a first round full of falls and wild rides, several thousand fans made their way onto the dirt to hear a 90-minute set from Cross Canadian Ragweed on the big stage at the 50-yard line.

The event was the first large-scale non-football event at Canvas Stadium since it opened in 2017 and required massive temporary transformations to the football stadium and field.

The final bull-riding rounds continue July 22, with the highest aggregate scores narrowing the field until the finals.

Star rider Daylon Swearingen leads all scorers at 87.50 points after the opening round. Lucas Martins Costa and Leonardo Castro are close behind at 86.50 apiece, with Brady Fielder (85.75) plus Cort McFadden and Thiago Salgado (85.25 each) rounding out the top five.
