What is the Eisenhower Matrix?

Namesake

Its namesake is former US President Dwight D. Eisenhower, who famously believed that "What is important is seldom urgent, and what is urgent is seldom important."

Four categories

Based on this ranking, you can divide your to-do list into four main categories of tasks. The first category is Important and Urgent.

Examples

An example of a task that would fall into this category is buying your mom a birthday present. Unless her birthday is today, you probably don’t need to do this right now.
