Laura Fox takes step back from radio after sudden death of dog
2fm’s Laura Fox has been left ‘heartbroken’ after her beloved pooch Thor died suddenly.
The radio host made the announcement on her social media, sharing how much the last five years with him meant to her and how they’re absolutely devastated by his passing.
Sharing a series of images to Instagram, she wrote: ‘I’m heartbroken to say we lost my Thor baby suddenly last week and we’re absolutely devastated, I don’t know what life is without him 💔
‘You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me Thor baby and I’m sorry that you were taken so soon. My best friend, love of my life. Everything good that has happened to me has come with you and I don’t believe for a second it was a coincidence.
‘Everyone who met you, loved you. But you only loved a select few and it was so special to be in your inner circle and not to be ignored by you 😂
‘5 years of talking to you, walking every inch of the Phoenix park with you, curled up on the couch just the 2 of us, getting my drivers licence just so I could bring you places, finding you the perfect teddy to suck on like a dodi.

‘You were the only person I wanted to see every single day and my heart ached being away from you even for a few hours but the love you gave me the second I walked through the door I’ll never forget.’
Laura went on to thank the teams from Ireland’s Fittest Family and 2fm for their support, after she learned the news of her pup’s passing and then had to go film.
She continued: ‘I just want to thank all of my fittest family family for being so great, finding out this news and having to film the next morning was the worst thing I’ve ever had to do but you didn’t minimise the pain for a moment.

‘To all my 2FM family, thank you for getting me through today and to all the listeners thank you for your gorgeous messages. I’m not able to fully read them just yet but they haven’t gone unnoticed.
‘Thank you to my friends and family for being there and to everyone who has been part of Thors world. To Rob and Glenda who minded him and loved him as if he was your own. It warms my heart how loved he was.
‘B Balls, I know he loved me more but you were absolutely a close second and it actually made me fall in love with you even more watching how great you looked after him always ❤️ I’m so sad he won’t be part of our wedding like we had planned ❤️🩹’

Laura confirmed she will be taking a break from radio and social media to adapt to her new normal without her beloved Thor.
She concluded: ‘I’m taking the rest of the week off radio and a break from here, I just can’t imagine putting up a story where he’s not sitting beside me or looking at me to hurry up and cuddle him.
‘I’m happy we gave him such a great life and I know he knows he was loved and always will be but the hurt is so much right now. I love you the most Thor baby x’
