Los Angeles Rams Star Pacifies ‘Pathetic’ QB Rant In Wake Of Stafford Injury

Los Angeles Rams receiver Davante Adams has never been one to sugarcoat things. In Netflix’s Receiver, the All-Pro wideout was captured voicing raw frustration with then-Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. “This is fing pathetic, bro,” Adams snapped after a missed deep shot. “Just throw the fing ball, man!” Later, Adams admitted he supported Garoppolo’s benching in favor of rookie Aidan O’Connell.
Yet in a surprising twist, the two have landed together again—this time with the Los Angeles Rams. And despite the firestorm they left behind in Las Vegas, Adams insists there’s no lingering resentment.
“It was never a personal thing,” Adams told ESPN Los Angeles. “That was just a dark moment in all of our lives. I think all of us were pretty miserable over there.”
“I Love Jimmy”: Adams Shifts the Narrative

Adams spoke candidly with ESPN LA’s Scott Kaplan and Beto Duran during Rams training camp. He didn’t duck the past or the headlines. Instead, he leaned into them.
“I love Jimmy,” he said. “We caught up and laughed about it, and we’ve been making plays since we’ve been here.”
It’s a striking tonal shift from the viral sideline eruptions of 2023. But is this peace durable—or temporary?
From Fallout to Fresh Start
Garoppolo, for his part, has said all the right things since signing with L.A.
“Pumped, man,” he told reporters. “Talented receiver. It’ll be fun seeing him again, just getting back on the same page.”
He’s now firmly behind Matthew Stafford on the depth chart. And Adams is no longer the focal point of the offense with Puka Nacua and Kyren Williams in the fold. But if Stafford’s health falters, the reunion could be fast-tracked—on the field and under pressure.
Stafford’s Back Adds Urgency

Sean McVay says Stafford will be ready for Week 1, but the Rams are playing it close to the vest. He hasn’t practiced in over two weeks due to back soreness.
If Stafford can’t go, Garoppolo steps in—and the Garoppolo-Adams dynamic becomes far more than a training camp storyline.
Haunted by the Past, Rewriting the Future?
Adams’s frustrations in Las Vegas weren’t limited to Garoppolo. He skipped OTAs in 2023 and later described the Raiders as operating under a “dark cloud.” After a short-lived reunion with Aaron Rodgers on the Jets, Adams was released and signed with the Rams in the spring.
“I feel like this is what I needed just based off the vibe and the aura of the building,” he said. “It’s not like a dark cloud over the building… And I’ve experienced that quite a bit over the last few years.”
Adams still managed 854 yards and 7 touchdowns in 11 games with New York. Now, he says he’s “rejuvenated” and set the bar high from the jump: “I feel like I can get 2K.”
The Stakes Are Real

For now, training camp is all laughs and optimism. But Rams fans know how quickly that can shift. Garoppolo and Adams may say the right things now—but what happens after a mistimed throw or a missed read?
There’s no question they’ve both grown since their Vegas days. But in the NFL, memories are short, and tension has a way of resurfacing.
If Stafford isn’t ready by Week 1, we’ll get a front-row seat to the sequel: Garoppolo to Adams, Episode II. This time in blue and yellow.
And this time, with no room for old grudges.
The Los Angeles Rams will kick off their 2025 preseason slate in just a few weeks—mark your calendars as they face their first opponent on the road in early August. It’s a critical opportunity for new additions, position battles, and taking early steps toward Sean McVay’s championship aspirations.
