iCar V27 teased again – debut in Dubai on August 1

iCar (iCaur to us in Malaysia) has announced it will reveal the V27 on August 1, 2025 in Dubai. To go along with the announcement, the Chery sub-brand released more teaser images of its upcoming model, although we already (mostly) know what it’ll look like thanks to spyshots of uncamouflaged examples.

Nicknamed the “Chinese G-Class” or “new energy vehicle (NEV) Land Cruiser” by iCar CEO SO Jun, the V27’s design is clearly inspired by those models, with notable cues being a boxy silhouette, circular daytime running lights, layered front grille, external spare tyre, flared fenders and various squared-off panels.

The V27 is claimed to be the brand’s largest offering, with reports indicating an overall length of around 4.9 metres. For context, the 03 is about 4.4 metres while the V23 is around 4.2 metres.

As for the powertrain, the V27 is expected to be an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) with a 1.5 litre turbocharged engine serving as a generator for a battery the powers the electric motors. Rear- and all-wheel drive variants are said to be offered, the latter with as much as 455 PS (449 hp or 335 kW). On pure electricity alone, the range is claimed to be up to 200 km following the CLTC standard.

CarNewsChina estimates the V27 to be priced between 200,000 and 250,000 yuan (about RM119k and RM148k), which would make it the most expensive model in the line-up when it goes on sale sometime in 2025.
