Christina Applegate Reveals 'Knife To The Heart' Comment Her Daughter Shared About Her MS

The “Dead to Me” actor, who publicly announced her diagnosis in 2021, recently opened up about a “knife to the heart” comment from her 14-year-old daughter, Sadie.

“I get up because of her [my daughter]. She’s the reason I’m still here and trying,” Applegate said during an appearance on SiriusXM’s “Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa” podcast, released Tuesday.

Applegate said the two “got into a big thing the other day” and her daughter told her, “I missed who you were before you got sick.”

“That is just like a knife to the heart because I miss who I was before I got sick too. Very much,” Applegate said as she got emotional. “Every day of my life is at such a loss.”

Christina Applegate and her daughter, Sadie Grace LeNoble, attend the 29th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Feb. 26, 2023.

The “Anchorman” actor has opened up before about her struggle to accept her diagnosis.

“I’m angry at it still, and there’s a lot of us out there who are newly diagnosed that are not quite ready to accept this reality,” she said on Hoda Kotb’s podcast, “Making Space,” in April. “I keep thinking that I’m just going to wake up from this nightmare, and it’s just going to be over.”

“It’s been a strange journey. But I have been so supported by people that I know who also have this condition,” she wrote at the time.

“It’s been a tough road,” Applegate added. “But as we all know, the road keeps going. Unless some asshole blocks it.”
