Preparation

Peel and thinly slice the potatoes (using a knife or mandolin).

Rub the dish with the garlic clove.

Place the potato slices in the dish like a tian.

Mix cream and milk and season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.

Bake the gratin without the cheese at 320°F (160°C) for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, add the grated cheese and cook for a further ten minutes to gratinate.
