If you scroll on TikTok, you’ll find dozens of viral videos of the fresh cheese being blended into pasta sauces, whipped into dips and even churned into ice cream. The ingredient has gained so much popularity on social media that grocery stores in Australia have struggled to keep up with the demand.
With about 13 grams of protein and 90 calories in a half-cup serving of low-fat cottage cheese, it’s a handy staple for bulking up the protein content of a recipe (whether that extra protein is actually necessary for your diet is a personal call and another story).
