20. Jelena Ostapenko

Jelena Ostapenko is the most recent player to break into the WTA top 20 after previously reaching number five in the world in 2018. She is a former French Open champion and reached the third round of the tournament in 2025.
19: Ekaterina Alexandrova

Ranked 20th in the world today, Ekaterina Alexandrova won one singles title in 2025 at Linz in Austria. The 30-year-old has won five career titles, and the furthest she has reached in a Grand Slam is the fourth round (Wimbledon 2023, French Open 2025).
17: Barbora Krejcikova

Barbora Krejcikova has ranked as high as second in the WTA Rankings, winning eight WTA singles titles and two Grand Slams (2021 French Open and 2024 Wimbledon). She made her first appearance in 2025 at Strasbourg in May, losing in the Round of 32.
16: Daria Kasatkina

After reaching the quarterfinals of the Adelaide International and the Round of 16 of the Australian Open, Daria Kasatkina has struggled to find her feet in preparation for the French Open. Her best Grand Slam finish was reaching the semifinal of Roland Garros in 2022.
15: Amanda Anisimova

Amanda Anisimova reached her career-high singles ranking of world No.15 on June 9, 2025. She won three WTA Tour titles, including one WTA 1000 event, the 2025 Qatar Ladies Open. In 2019, she reached the semifinal of the French Open.
14: Karolina Muchova

Karolina Muchova has won one WTA Tour title in her career but has reached at least the quarterfinals in all four Grand Slam events, including the French Open final in 2023. This year, she has reached the semifinals at Linz and the Dubai Championship.
13: Elina Svitolina

An Olympic bronze medallist and a winner of 18 WTA Tour events, including Rouen 2025, Elina Svitolina ranks 13th globally. She has reached at least the quarterfinals in her last three clay tournaments and reached the quarterfinals of the 2025 French Open.
12: Diana Shnaider

21-year-old Diana Shnaider reached a career-high ranking of world No.11 in singles on May 5, 2025, after reaching the quarterfinals in Rome. She has four career singles titles and has only reached as high as the fourth Round in a Grand Slam.
11: Elena Rybakina

Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon champion, is 11th in the WTA rankings. She has won eight WTA Tour titles, including the 2023 Indian Wells Open and the 2023 Italian Open. Although she has yet to win this year, she has played solid tennis throughout.
9: Paula Badosa

Paula Badosa has ranked as high as number two in the WTA singles rankings and has won four WTA events, including Indian Wells. She beat Coco Gauff in straight sets to reach the Australian Open semifinal in 2025, her best finish in a Grand Slam event.
8: Madison Keys

American Madison Keys is ranked 8th in the WTA rankings. She captured her first Grand Slam title at the 2025 Australian Open and has won ten career singles titles. She also won the Adelaide International at the start of the year and reached the quarterfinals of the French Open.
7: Iga Swiatek

Despite reaching the quarterfinals of every tournament bar one in 2025, Iga Swiatek is yet to win her first title of the year. She has won four of the last six French Open titles.
6: Mirra Andreeva

Russian star Mirra Andreeva has been red-hot this year, winning the Dubai Championship and Indian Wells. She has also reached the quarterfinals in Madrid, Rome, and the French Open, where she reached the semifinals last year and won an Olympic silver.
5: Qinwen Zheng

Qinwen Zheng has won five career singles titles, including the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She reached the Australian Open's final in 2024 and the quarterfinals twice at the US Open. The Chinese star is yet to win a title in 2025.
4: Jasmine Paolini

Italian Jasmine Paolini has won three WTA Tour titles, the most recent of which came on May 18, 2025, when she beat Coco Gauff in the final of the Italian Open in Rome. She also reached the finals of Wimbledon and the French Open in 2024. Can she go one better at Wimbledon or the US Open?
3: Jessica Pegula

Jessica Pegula is ranked number three in the WTA rankings, having already secured two singles titles in 2025. She won the ATX Open and the Charleston Open, and reached the final of the Miami Open to move up in the world rankings. She has yet to win a Grand Slam event.
2: Coco Gauff

Ranked No.2 is American superstar Coco Gauff, the 2023 US Open champion and the winner of ten WTA Tour titles at age 21. She won the United Cup at the start of 2025 and reached the final of the Spanish and Italian Opens in her last two tournaments before the French Open. Her preparation was perfect, and she beat Aryna Sabalenka in the Roland Garros final to secure her second Grand Slam.
