San Antonio film community honors Jonathan Joss for film contributions at local screening
The San Antonio film community came together Monday night to recognize Jonathan Joss’ contributions to film at the Brick at Blue Star.
While Jonathan Joss was mostly known for voicing John Redcorn in King of the Hill he also worked on many mainstream projects and independent films.
San Antonio actors say Joss regulary supported local talent. At tonight’s film screening, one local actor who starred in a music video directed by Joss said Joss agreed to work on one of her upcoming projects. Paul McComas, the writer and director of Unplugged, an animated film also remembered Joss as a standup guy.
“Jonathan worked a lot in Indie,” McComas said. “We were happy to work with him and support him. It was such an honor. We recorded in Austin a couple of years ago. He literally gave me the shirt off his back because I admired his T-shirt. He said oh, you like it? He took it right off and handed it to me. That’s the kind of guy he was.”
Unplugged is set to air in 2027. McComas says it will be Joss’ last act.
