Thousands gather for No Kings rally in Greenville.

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Thousands of people took over Unity Park Saturday morning for the “No Kings” rally. It lasted about two hours and remained peaceful.

Protestors started by singing The Star-Spangled Banner and took a moment of silence to remember those who died serving this country. Many supporters said they’re not happy with the actions of top leaders.

“Immigration control, the use of military against citizens of the U.S, that is why I am out here today,” Lisa Sutton said from Lake Keowee.

“I’m here today, not to say anti-trump, necessarily, but to say pro-america and pro our constitution,” Deedee Brant said from Lake Keowee.

People traveled from all over South Carolina, Georgia, and beyond.

“I think most of us don’t like the fact that immigrants are being looked at in a light as though they are criminals,” Jeanna Black from Atlanta said.

“I noticed that there are not a lot of Hispanics here, and it makes me sad that they don’t want to speak, but that is why some of us are here,” Emely Mora from Anderson said.

“I am very proud of Greenville, to be honest,” Briseida Mora said from Anderson. “I didn’t think this many people were going to show up. We weren’t planning on coming; my parents weren’t thrilled about the idea. But I am proud to be an American and a Mexican American, and I am glad that I am here today.”

Spartanburg County also held a protest in Morgan Square at 4 p.m.
