The Buccaneers season 2 cast, filming locations and episode guide

The Buccaneers are back for a second season in English society but this time they are no longer outsiders.

The daughters of America’s nouveau riche have married into the upper classes of the 1870s and must now wrestle with romance, lust, jealousy, births and deaths.

Based on the unfinished novel of the same name by Edith Wharton, the Apple TV+ series was created by Katherine Jakeways and directed by William McGregor.

And many of the cast from the first season are returning to the period drama for a second outing including Kristine Froseth, Guy Remmers and Mia Threapleton.

Who is in the cast of The Buccaneers season 2?

Kristine Froseth

Kristine Froseth stars as Annabel “Nan” St George, one of the daughters of America’s nouveau riche who marries Theo, Duke of Tintagel.

The American-Norwegian actress, 29, is best known for playing Kelly Aldrich in the series The Society. She has had main roles in Looking for Alaska, The First Lady and When the Streetlights Go On.

She has also appeared in the films Sharp Stick and How to Blow Up a Pipeline.

Mia Threapleton

Mia Threapleton plays Honoria Marable, the youngest sister of Dick and James Marable.

The British actress, 24, is the daughter of Kate Winslet and made her film debut at the age of 13 in A Little Chaos.

She has since appeared in the films Shadows, Firebrand and Scoop.

Guy Remmers

Guy Remmers takes on the role of Theo, Duke of Tintagel, who marries Nan St George.

The 30-year-old British actor started his career at the Bristol Old Vic Company, where he made his stage debut in The Grandfathers.

He has also worked as a model for Jimmy Choo.

Matthew Broome

Matthew Broome is Guy Thwarte, an eligible bachelor and original love interest for Nan.

The Buccaneers was the first television role for the British actor, he will appear in My Fault: London this year.

On stage, the 24-year-old has appeared in The Comedy of Errors and Twelfth Night at the Globe Theatre in London.

Where is The Buccaneers filmed?

Stately homes which were used for the series include Drumlanrig Castle, Hopetoun House, Culzean Castle, Newhailes House and Gosford House.

The historic streets of Edinburgh are the backdrop for London society life in the 1870s.

Geilston Gardens, near Helensburgh in Argyll and Bute, is also showcased in the second season.

And the town of Greenock, near Inverclyde, features in this series.

When is The Buccaneers season 2 on and how many episodes are there?

Season two of The Buccaneers makes its debut on Wednesday, 18 June on Apple TV+.

There are eight episodes in total, and one episode will be released weekly until Wednesday, 16 August.

The complete first season of The Buccaneers is also available to stream on Apple TV+.

Viewers will need a subscription to Apple TV+ to watch the first or second season, which costs from £8.99 a month, although there is a seven-day free trial.
