Netflix’s biggest movie of 2025 watched 74,200,000 times in only two weeks

Netflix are used to producing original content that does rather well for them and strikes a chord with their audience. Yet even by their own standards of success, sometimes a TV show or movie explodes and gets seen by so many viewers, even the top execs must be in shock. Earlier this year the world couldn't stop watching or talking about the gritty drama Adolescence. Now? The numbers for their latest hit original film are going seriously crazy. In a week where there's fierce competition from all many of comedies, romances, thrillers, animated flicks and tense documentaries, there's only been one winner. Let's check out the top ten... 10. Cheers to Life - 4,100,000 views

A mysterious pendant sparks Jéssica’s journey from Brazil to Israel, where familial surprises and an unexpected romance send her life in new directions. She’s played with no small amount of charm by Thati Lopes, alongside Regina Braga and Jonas Bloch. The supporting ensemble also features the likes of Rodrigo Simas and Clara Tiezzi. 9. Get Hard - 4,400,000 views

When hedge fund hotshot James King (Will Ferrell) is convicted of fraud and given 30 days before he's sent to prison, he enlists car‑wash owner Darnell Lewis (Kevin Hart) to train him - despite Darnell never having spent a day behind bars. Supporting players include Craig T. Nelson as James’s scheming boss, Alison Brie as his ex-fiancée, plus cameos from T.I., John Mayer and Jimmy Fallon. 8. A Widow's Game - 4,800,000 views

This Spanish thriller, directed by Carlos Sedes, tells the shocking story of the 2017 murder of Antonio Navarro Cerdán, over in the eastern city of Valencia. Nurse Maje (Ivana Baquero) appears to be a grieving widow, that's up until her tangled web of affairs and manipulative lies spill out. Her lover Salva (Tristán Ulloa) is drawn into the brutal killing, while detective Eva (Carmen Machi) pieces together incriminating wire taps and texts. 7. Bee Movie - 4,800,000 views

Barry B. Benson (voiced by Jerry Seinfeld, who also co-wrote the film) graduates from hive college, only to discover his career path is sealed - until he breaks the cardinal rule and befriends florist Vanessa (Renée Zellweger). Shocked to learn that humans eat honey, Barry sues the human race, changing everything from the honey trade to flower blooms. 6. Trainwreck: The Astroworld Tragedy - 6,200,000 views

This gruelling documentary dives into the disastrous crowd surge at Travis Scott’s 2021 Astroworld Fest in Houston, where 10 people tragically died and hundreds more were injured. Directors Yemi Bamiro and Hannah Poulter structure the 80 minute film around survivor testimonies, 911 tapes and front-line footage. All in a bid to unpack systemic failures in crowd control, security readiness and event-management protocols. In this high-octane thriller, reliable everyman action hero Gerard Butler stars as Brodie Torrance, a commercial pilot who's forced to make an emergency landing on a remote island after a lightning strike disables his plane (you can see where they got the clever title from, can't you?). Teaming up with fugitive Louis Gaspare (Mike Colter), Torrance has to navigate hostile terrain and militant forces to rescue his passengers. This fun thriller delivers pleasing enough action sequences and scored an impressive 79% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. 4. Our Times - 7,100,000 views

In this Mexican romantic sci-fi, physicists Nora and Héctor accidentally time travel from 1966 to 2025. While Nora flourishes in a world that values women in science, Héctor struggles with the societal changes. Their relationship faces a while bunch of challenges as they navigate the complexities of time travel and evolving gender dynamics. 3. Titan: The OceanGate Submersible Disaster - 17,400,000 views

This Netflix original documentary delves into the controversial 2023 implosion of the Titan submersible during a Titanic expedition, which infamously resulted in five tragic deaths.
