Fossil Ridge's Teagan Myers named Colorado's Gatorade Girls Soccer Player of the Year
Add another accolade for this year's Fossil Ridge girls soccer team.
Fossil Ridge senior defender Teagan Myers was named Colorado's Gatorade girls soccer Player of the Year for the 2024-25 season.
It's the second statewide honor for Myers, who was also CHSAA's Class 5A Player of the Year following the SaberCats' first soccer state title in May.
Myers was a vital piece of the 15-1-4 championship squad, anchoring a dominant defense that allowed just 13 goals in 20 matches with 11 shutouts. She added two assists and four goals.
That included the game-winning goal in Fossil's 1-0 title-game win over Castle View, as Myers headed in a ball off a corner kick with under 10 minutes left.
Myers earned a spot on the 5A all-state team, joined by teammates Lily Wale, Reese Morgan, Bailey Pottratz and Amelia Larson. Fossil head coach Cyrus Salehi was also CHSAA's 5A Coach of the Year.

With the Gatorade honor, Myers joins former standout Colorado winners like Mountain Vista and U.S. Women's National Team star Mallory Swanson (née Pugh), Shae Holmes (ThunderRidge) and Mari Annest (Colorado Academy).
The yearly award sponsored by Gatorade recognizes the best athletes by sport in every state. It honors not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field.
According to the Gatorade news release, Myers maintained a 4.18 weighted GPA and volunteered locally as part of multiple community service initiatives through the National Honor Society and Key Club.
The senior will continue her playing career at the collegiate level with the University of Kentucky, signing to play soccer with the Wildcats.
Myers is the latest Fort Collins-area Gatorade Player of the Year. Other recent local winners include Christian Groendyk (Fort Collins cross country), Isabel Allori (Liberty Common track & field) and Nikki McGaffin (Fossil Ridge softball).
