ANN ARBOR – After a memorable season filled with historic and thrilling moments, it’s time to recognize the Ann Arbor-area’s top girls soccer players.

From consistent goal scorers to stout defenders to reliable goalkeepers, the Ann Arbor area was filled with premier players who left their mark for their teams in 2025.

Now, a select few standouts have earned Ann Arbor-area Dream Team honors to add to their impressive resumes.

The Dream Team features a first team, honorable mention selections and a Coach of the Year. The team is based on individual statistics, team success, postseason awards, and input from area coaches.

Midfield

Walsh was a tenacious player for the Hornets on her way to earning the title Ann Arbor Player of the Year.

The junior standout did it all for the Hornets from scoring goals to setting up teammates and bringing the intensity they needed to advance to the Division 1 state final.

Walsh finished the year with 20 goals and five assists and was voted first team All-State and to the Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association’s Dream Team.

Snyder was a scoring machine for the Hornets in her final season as she racked up 30 goals and added eight assists to earn first team All-State honors and MHSSCA Dream Team recognition.

Forward

Roberts will go down as one of the best players the Bulldogs have ever had. The senior star scored 24 goals and 19 assists as she claimed third team all-state honors and was selected first team all-conference.

River Pham, Ann Arbor Skyline, Jr.

Forward

Pham was one of the leaders of Skyline’s program and earned second team All-State honors and was named to the All-SEC Red first team.

Cate Alumkal, Ann Arbor Greenhills, So.

Midfield

Alumkal did everything for the Gryphons and was a versatile performer. The sophomore scored 21 goals and had five assists to earn third team All-State honors.

Midfield

Walsh provided offensive support for herself and her teammates to the tune of six goals and six assists. She earned first team all-conference honors and was honorable mention all-state.

Ayla Tindall, Ann Arbor Huron, Jr.

Forward

Tindall was one of the top players in the SEC-Red and the River Rats go-to forward. She finished the year with third team All-State honors and was selected first team all-conference.

Sadie Wilkins, Ann Arbor Pioneer, Sr.

Forward

Wilkins provided a veteran presence for the Pioneers and captured first team all-conference praise and all-state honorable mention accolades.

Elle Wong, Ann Arbor Skyline, Sr.

Defender

Wong was one of the top defenders in the SEC-Red as she received all-conference and All-State honorable mention acknowledgement.

Lydia Zajchowski, Saline, Jr.

Defender

Zajchowski was a key contributor to Saline’s dominant defense this season. The junior helped the Hornets post 19 shutouts and scored five goals en route to earning first team All-State achievements.

Kaylee Mitzel, Saline, So.

Goalkeeper

Mitzel was nearly automatic from her goalie position as she recorded 19 shutouts and earned all-district and honorable mention all-conference honors.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Leigh Rumbold, Saline

Rumbold helped guide the Hornets to their best season in a decade to earn Coach of the Year honors.

He led the Hornets to a state runner-up finish, an SEC-Red title and a 21-1-2 record. Saline allowed just six goals on the year and posted 19 shutouts.
