NCAA softball bracketology: Final predictions for 64-team bracket on Selection Sunday

Oklahoma's Ailana Agbayani (50) celebrates a grand slam in the third inning during the college softball game between the University of Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns at Loves Field in Norman, Okla., Friday, April, 25, 2025.

The college softball season is down is down to its final few weeks, but the questions are soaring from all over heading into Selection Sunday.

Will there be a team from outside the power conferences make it to the final eight for the Women's College World Series at Devon Park in Oklahoma City?

This year's bracket might require giving a little more grace to the selection committee when the inevitable grips come.

Case in point: There are sound arguments for OU and Texas A&M to be the No. 1 overall seed. Saturday's SEC championship rainout ruined the opportunity to settle things on the field.

Conference realignment added another wrinkle into the selection process this year on top of trying to place teams for geographic proximity.

Our final projections have 14 of the 15 SEC teams in the field, with only Missouri missing out because the Tigers have a losing record despite a top-40 RPI rating.

Here is our projected field of 64 entering Selection Sunday:
