Jonathan Knight Reveals He’s Taking a Break from HGTV: Exclusive
For the past year, fans have been waiting for an update on the future of Jonathan Knight’s loved HGTV series Farmhouse Fixer, which wrapped its third season last June. However, in an exclusive interview with Country Living, Jon has confirmed that the show will not be returning.
“So many fans have been asking me, but Farmhouse Fixer is done,” Knight, 56, told us during opening weekend of New Kids On the Block: The Right Stuff Las Vegas Residency. “I’m not going to be doing more seasons. Right now, I just want to put my time and energy into the Las Vegas residency and other personal ventures.”
The series, which premiered in 2021, followed Knight and interior designer Kristina Crestin as they restored centuries-old farmhouses in New England. It became so popular that it spawned a spin-off, Farmhouse Fixer: Camp Revamp, which saw Jon and his family–including brother and bandmate Jordan Knight–overhaul an abandoned lakefront campground.

Since joining the network Jon has also appeared in a string of other shows including Home Town Takeover, Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge and most recently, competing with Jordan in Rock the Block.
While many Blockheads will be devastated to hear Farmhouse Fixer won’t be back, Jon notes it doesn’t mean it’s the last we’ll see of him on television. In fact, he already has ideas for other television projects.
“I've always urged the people at HGTV to bring the garden aspect back to HGTV,” he said. “They say the garden shows don't do well, but I think if there was a really good one, it would do well. People nowadays don't garden like they used to, but I have a few ideas I'm pitching that will be more farm-based, so we'll see where that goes.”
“Even if it's just a reality show tagging along with me while I do my daily chores and hopefully teach people things along the way, that would be cool,” Jon continued. “I love TV shows where it's not just drama and stupidity, but viewers come away having learned something.”

Jon says he’d also love to work with Jordan again, given how much fun they had teaming up for Rock the Block.
“Doing Rock The Block with Jordan was one of the best experiences of my life,” Jon raved. “Not only did we get to live in the same house for eight weeks, have dinner together, get up and have coffee together and commute to work together, but he really caught the bug of being on TV.”
“It’s funny too because I don't think he realized how much work goes into making a TV show,” Jon continued. “It’s a lot of long days and hours. But he loved it even though he was feeling worked to death!”
Until the brothers unite on screen again, they’re focused on their Vegas residency, which kicked off at Dolby Live at Park MGM on June 20 and runs until February 2026. Along with bandmates Danny Wood, Joey McIntyre, and Danny Wood, the multiplatinum musicians wowed concertgoers with a two-hour spectacle featuring 2,000 streamers, 7,000 rhinestones, 500 pieces of pyrotechnics and more than 100,000 pieces of confetti – many of which could be seen colorfully billowing into the Vegas skies from Park MGM’s entrance after the show.
“I don't really remember opening night,” confessed Jon. “I was just thinking, ‘Don't f*** up!’ The second night was cool because the energy changes and you can relax, be more present on stage and really feel what's happening.”
Jon’s excited that the show will keep getting better, in time for his family to come see it from Massachusetts in coming weeks.
As for the personal ventures he wants to dedicate time to now Farmhouse Fixer has wrapped, he’s planning to start a charitable food project based at Gathering Farm, where he lives with his husband, Barry’s fitness trainer Harley Rodriguez.
“It’s hard when we're on tour because we leave in April and I don't get back until late July, so I miss the whole growing season, but over the next couple of years I'm free during the summer, so I want to continue growing stuff,” Jon explained. “I just love growing food, but I always go overboard. Instead of planting four tomato plants, I’ll plant 30, then I'm calling my neighbors saying, ‘Come pick these vegetables!’”
“So, I want to build some more infrastructure, grow what I can and donate it to food pantries. That’s the next big thing I want to get up and running.”

As for Blockheads waiting to book their next summer getaway at the campground the Knight clan began transforming in Farmhouse Fixer: Camp Revamp, they’ll have to wait a little longer—or head to Vegas until they can take a campground vacation. Jon’s been too busy to focus on the project, but assures Blockheads that it will be a focus now that he has some time freed up.
“I’m definitely going back this summer as there's still so much to finish and it’s taking more time than I thought. There's a lot of rules and regulations that require extra steps. I knew that going into it, but it’s just about finding time to get engineers up there and everything. We're plugging away and it’s been great that me and Harley can go up there and my family also stay in the cabin. We will get it to finished – everybody just hang in there!”
