As reported by media outlets such as The Mirror, the businessman was participating in the Queen's Cup polo match at Guards Polo Club when a bee stung him in the mouth. The bee sting caused anaphylactic shock.

Anaphylactic shock is a severe, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction caused by exposure to certain substances, such as venom. This reaction can cause, among other symptoms, a sudden drop in blood pressure and narrowing of the airways, impeding breathing and resulting in cardiocirculatory collapse.

This Indian businessman was the president of the automobile parts company Sona Comstar, and according to various media outlets, his fortune was estimated at over $1.2 billion.
His last moments alive
According to a witness who spoke to The Telegraph, the businessman was heard saying he had swallowed something, and then he collapsed.
"He was full of life, laughing, joking, and he disappeared in an instant," another witness told The Mirror.

The company he led wrote the following message: "It is with profound sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of Mr. Sunjay J Kapur, Chairman and Non-Executive Director of Sona Comstar, following a sudden heart attack in England, UK, on 12th June 2025, at the age of 53..."

His last social media post
Paradoxically, just hours before his own death, Sunjay Kapur had shared a post on social media in which he remembered the victims of the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crash. This plane had crashed after departing from Ahmedabad, bound for London, on the same day of his death. "My condolences go out to all the affected families. May they find strength in these difficult times," he wrote.
