- In a new interview, Christie Brinkley shares who she’d like to play her in a screen adaptation of her new memoir, Uptown Girl.
- A handful of celebrities, including her own daughter, Sailor Brinkley Cook, make the cut.
- Brinkley said she wrote the book “to inspire readers to create the life they want, which is what I’ve always tried to do.”
On the heels of the release of her memoir, Uptown Girl, supermodel Christie Brinkley is sharing who she might like to play her in a screen adaptation of the book, should that ever come to pass.
Speaking with E!, as the topic was broached, a host of the show suggested Sabrina Carpenter, to which Brinkley responded, “Oh my God, love her,” mentioning “the hair” as a similarity between herself and the singer. But after Carpenter was deemed too short by a host of the program, a supermodel was suggested—to which Brinkley replied, “I know a supermodel—my daughter, Sailor [Brinkley Cook].”

Then she mentioned Scarlett Johansson because the actress “has a great sense of humor,” and also Reese Witherspoon “because she’s Reese Witherspoon, and we all just love her.”
When Gigi Hadid’s name was thrown on the table, Brinkley approved, saying “I love her. That would work too.”
Of the idea of a biopic, “Thank you for putting that out there,” Brinkley said.
Uptown Girl, released April 29, tells Brinkley’s story through the lens of her love life and her career; as she told The Today Show, “I’ve had a very adventurous life.”

“Some parts of it I didn’t really want to revisit or write about,” Brinkley said, adding, “I can be grateful for bad things that happened—they either taught me something or propelled me further.”
When the book was announced in February, it promised to show Brinkley’s “unwavering belief in the magic and mystery of life,” People reported.
“I wrote Uptown Girl to inspire readers to create the life they want, which is what I’ve always tried to do, not through fortune or fame, but by saying yes to adventure and trying to find the magic in every moment, no matter how big or small,” Brinkley said.

Of the book’s title, Uptown Girl—which was inspired by a song of the same name by ex-husband Billy Joel, in which she stars in its 1983 music video—“Suddenly, I had a theme song,” she said (via The LA Times). “That was definitely a gift that Billy gave to me.”
Of the project—which has more than a couple of bombshells within its pages—Brinkley told People, “When I first went to my publisher, they said, ‘Christie, is there anything to write about that we don’t already know?’ And I said, ‘Oh yes, tons!’”
