Luxury, exotic cars event in downtown Fort Lee will benefit Wounded Warrior Project

FORT LEE — More than 100 luxury and exotic vehicles, from historic classics to new and advanced high-powered ones, will be on display and judged in the downtown area on Sunday, July 13.

The fourth annual Concours on the Palisades will be set up starting at Main Street from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The event, sponsored by the Business District Alliance of Fort Lee, is free to the public. The event will be postponed until Aug. 17 in case of rain.

Concours on the Palisades brings "the finest in luxury, exotic, and vintage automobiles," said Natalie Chapè, executive director of the Business District Alliance. Owners of the vehicles will be on hand and available to answer visitors' questions at the event.

The vehicle owners come from local municipalities as well as the Tri-State Area; however, the vehicles themselves come from all over the world, she said. About 120 vehicles have already registered to be included in the event.

"Every year, the event is a lively celebration of cars and car lovers from every walk, or drive, of life," said Chapè. "We attract 3,000 to 4,000 spectators."

This year’s show will include a recognition of BMW North America’s 50th anniversary with BMWs from the last five decades. Following the event, at 3:30 p.m., there will be a showing of the BMW film series "The Hire." Admission to the film is also free and sponsored by the borough's business alliance and the Barrymore Film Center.

“We are delighted to present the fourth annual Concours on the Palisades to the Fort Lee community and beyond," said Chapè. "This event showcases cars from all over the world and reflects Fort Lee’s diverse and cosmopolitan community."
