The Vols are likely to have double-digit picks in the 2025 MLB Draft, which starts with the first three rounds on July 13 (6 p.m. ET, ESPN). The rest of the draft is on July 14 starting at 11:30 a.m. ET.

UT has had 33 players picked in the past four drafts, with six first-round picks in Vitello's eight-year tenure.

Pitcher Liam Doyle

Slot value: $8,134,800

What to know: Doyle was 10-4 with a 3.20 ERA and was named the SEC pitcher of the year. He struck out a program-record 164 batters in 95⅔ innings, while walking only 32. The Ole Miss transfer struck out 14 in a career-best 8⅓ innings on April 11 against his former team. Doyle allowed two runs on three hits with two walks.

Shortstop Gavin Kilen

Slot value: $5,524,300

What to know: Kilen hit a team-leading .357 in his lone season at Tennessee. He hit 15 homers, 13 doubles and a team-high four triples. He had the fewest strikeouts of any everyday Tennessee player with 27. He walked 30 times after having 17 walks in two seasons at Louisville before transferring to UT.

Third baseman Andrew Fischer

Drafted: Milwaukee Brewers, Round 1 (No. 20 overall)

Slot value: $4,268,100

Fischer reached base in all 65 games for Tennessee and hit 25 homers, the second-most in a season in program history behind only Christian Moore's 34 in 2024. He tied the school record with 63 walks, matching Chase Headley's 2005 mark. He hit .341 with 16 doubles and drove in 65 runs and scored 70 runs. He led Tennessee in runs, RBIs, homers, walks, extra-base hits, slugging percentage and on-base percentage.

Pitcher Marcus Phillips

Slot value: $2,898,300

What to know: Phillips was 4-5 with a 3.90 ERA in 17 starts in 2025. He struck out 98 in 83 innings and walked 34. The 6-4, 246-pound Phillips was 4-5 with a 4.11 ERA in 36 games with 19 starts in two seasons after coming to Tennessee from Iowa Western Community College.

Pitcher AJ Russell

Slot value: $1,846,700

What to know: Russell was 4-2 with a 2.70 ERA in three seasons at Tennessee. He struck out 104 in 70 innings across 42 appearances with 11 starts. The 6-foot-6 pitcher was 2-1 with a 3.55 ERA with 36 strikeouts in 25⅓ innings in 2025 after returning from Tommy John surgery.

Shortstop Dean Curley

Drafted: Cleveland Guardians, Round 2 (No. 64 overall)

Slot value: $1,382,300

What to know: Curley hit .301 with 26 homers and 101 RBIs in two seasons at Tennessee. The Californian took over the starting shortstop position as a freshman in 2024, winning the job and holding it on Tennessee's national championship team.

Pitcher Tanner Franklin

Drafted: St. Louis Cardinals, Round 2 (No. 72 overall)

Slot value: $1,145,900

What to know: Franklin was 1-2 with a 4.89 ERA in 27 games with one start. He struck out 52 in 38⅔ innings with nine walks, drastically cutting down on his walk rate from his first two seasons at Kennesaw State while adding velocity.

Pitcher Nate Snead

Drafted: Los Angeles Angels, Round 3 Compensation Pick (No. 105 overall)

Slot value: $729,600

What to know: Snead was a key cog in Tennessee’s bullpen for two seasons. He appeared in 52 games and made two starts. He had a 14-4 record with a 3.52 ERA. He won 10 games and pitched 75⅓ on Tennessee’s national title team in 2024.

Shortstop Steele Hall

Drafted: Cincinnati Reds, Round 1 (No. 9 overall)

Slot value: $6,513,800

What to know: Hall, a star shortstop from Hewitt-Trussville in Alabama,  originally committed to the Vols in the 2026 recruiting class. He reclassified to the 2025 class and signed with UT in November. Perfect Game ranked Hall as the No. 20 prospect and the No. 12 shortstop in the 2025 class.

Shortstop Billy Carlson

Drafted: Chicago White Sox, Round 1 (No. 10 overall)

Slot value: $6,238,400

Carlson is ranked the No. 3 prospect nationally and the No. 2 shortstop, according to Perfect Game. The Corona High School (California) is considered by many to be the best defensive high school shortstop in the country. Carlson flipped his commitment to Tennessee from Vanderbilt in October.

Pitcher Kruz Schoolcraft 

Drafted: San Diego Padres, Round 1 (No. 25 overall)

What to know: Schoolcraft is ranked as the No. 7 prospect in the nation and the No. 1 left-handed pitcher by Perfect Game. The 6-foot-8, 230-pound pitcher from Oregon committed to Tennessee in December over LSU and a host of SEC offers.
