High heat and humidity along with scattered storms through Friday.

FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS were issued during Monday for parts of Connecticut. Slow-moving downpours created localized flooding with some towns picking up 2.00+ inches of rain in a short period of time(See Below). Significant/life threatening flood across SE New York and Northern New Jersey with numerous highways closed and numerous water rescues.

Please remember when a FLOOD WATCH is issued be prepared for rising water if you live in an area that has poor drainage, is prone to flooding, near underpasses, or along small creeks/streams. If you come across a flooded road, do NOT drive through it! Make sure the sump pumps are working in your basement because basement flooding is always very possible!

Scattered showers and thundershowers will pop up Tuesday through Friday, mainly during the late afternoon/evening with the big story a return to the sweltering heat and humidity. HEAT ADVISORY for Hartford, Tolland, and Windham Counties through Friday. Temperatures will top out in the low 90s with heat indices in the upper 90s to low 100s through Friday.

Tonight: Lingering light rain and muggy. Lows in the low 70s.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, very warm and humid with an isolated late day thundershower. Highs in the mid to upper 80s.

Wednesday: Lots of sunshine. Hot and humid. Highs in the upper 80s to low 90s.

Thursday: Sun and clouds, hot and oppressively humid with scattered afternoon thundershowers. Highs in the low 90s. Feels like 100 degrees. Cooler SE Beaches

Friday: Hazy, sweltering with afternoon/evening showers/storms. Highs in the upper 80s to low 90s. Feels like 100 degrees! Cooler Beaches!

Saturday: Mostly sunny, not as hot and much less humid. Highs in the mid 80s.

Sunday: Partly sunny, moderate humidity. Highs in the mid 80s.
