‘We’re just going to brave the heat’: Chiefs fans, players return to training camp

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The first day of Chiefs training camp up in St. Joseph, Tuesday, kicked off with fan excitement as players hit the field for the first time this season, but they were also met with some heat.

High temperatures and humidity will be a constant this training camp, something fans said they have no problem sitting in to catch the players.

“I’m most excited to see the rookies. Rookies get me excited every year. Brett Veach is a genius, so I’m just ready to see the rookies,” Chris McCurley, a fan who travels over an hour each year for camp, said.

McCurley says he’s used to these temperatures with August camp, but he does come prepared.
