Predicting the Browns' 53-man roster before training camp

Along with preseason activities come roster evaluations and predictions of who will make the final 53-man roster. Cleveland is heading into an interesting 2025 season with many questions about their lineup, including who will be their starting quarterback.

The team is expected to give everyone — including their quarterbacks — a fair chance to make the roster throughout training camp and preseason performances. Veterans Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett are competing for the veteran quarterback spot that will most likely start the 2025 regular season. With Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders being rookies, it would be a surprise to see either one cut before their first regular season game.

There’s a close eye on several key position groups, including the very talented defensive line room, and which players could potentially be released. Players like Julian Okwara, Jowonn Briggs, and Sam Kamara will have to fight for their roster spots. This is also the case for the talented linebacker room, which is expected to feature rookie Carson Schwesinger this upcoming season.

The final 53-man roster for the Browns is expected to be finalized by August 26th at 4 p.m. With the start of training camp quickly approaching, here’s an early prediction of the Browns’ 2025 regular season roster:
