Walmart products recalled nationwide: Serious risk of death warning
Several popular products sold at Walmart and Walmart.com have been recalled nationwide in recent months due to risks ranging from serious injury and permanent vision loss to fire, burn hazards, and even the risk of death.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) triggered these urgent recalls, affecting families, children, and individuals across the United States.
Why It Matters
The recent wave of product recalls involving Walmart affects a broad spectrum of household, toy, and children's products. These recalls aim to protect U.S. consumers from hazards—such as tip-overs, ingestion of dangerous batteries, and fires—that could result in serious injuries or, in some cases, deaths.
What To Know
Aiho Dressers
Aiho recalled 1,900 five-drawer dressers sold on Walmart.com due to instability, posing tip-over and entrapment hazards that could result in serious injury or death to children. These dressers fail to meet STURDY Act safety standards. No injuries have been reported. Owners should stop using the dressers if unanchored to the wall and contact Aiho for a refund.
Minecraft Light-Up Slap Ruler Bracelets

The battery compartment of the recalled light-up ruler bracelets can be opened easily by children allowing access to the button cell batteries, violating the battery-operated toys requirements under the mandatory standard for toys. CPSC
Innovative Designs recalled about 75,900 units of these bracelets, sold nationwide at Walmart, because the battery compartment can be accessed by children, violating safety standards and risking ingestion. This can cause internal burns or death. Consumers should stop using and contact Innovative Designs for a refund.
Frigidaire Minifridges

Curtis International recalled approximately 634,000 units after 26 reports of the minifridges smoking, igniting, and causing over $700,000 in property damage. Two smoke inhalation injuries have been reported. Owners should stop using the affected models immediately and follow the manufacturer's instructions for a refund.
What People Are Saying
Walmart said in a statement on its recall webpage: "Walmart and Sam's Club are committed to the health and safety of our customers and members and to providing products that are safe and compliant, all supported by our health and wellness, product safety, and food safety professionals. In the event of a product recall, we work swiftly to block the item from being sold and remove it from our stores and clubs."

What Happens Next
Consumers are advised to immediately cease using all recalled products and ensure proper disposal as outlined by product manufacturers or federal guidelines. Refund and remedy processes typically require proof of disposal. For further information or to report a problem with the recall process, consumers can contact Walmart customer service at 800-925-6278, visit CPSC.gov, or review Walmart's recall information at corporate.walmart.com/recalls. Individuals who believe a recall is not being handled correctly may file a complaint via the CPSC.
