Top 6+ changes coming to Starbucks' menu
Starbucks is rolling out big changes – and it’s clear they’ve got Gen Z in mind. With new CEO Brian Niccol at the helm, the coffee chain is revamping its menu, look, and feel to stay on trend. Below are the six big ways Starbucks is evolving its menu.
2. Introducing Healthier Options

Starbucks is leaning into health and wellness. One example being tested is a sugar-free vanilla latte with banana protein cold foam. The goal? Make drinks that taste good and feel good too.
3. Adding More Protein

High-protein drinks and snacks are on the rise. 'Protein is where culture is,' Lieberman explained. 'You have to live it, and you have to be in it.'
4. Less Sugar in Matcha

In January, Starbucks removed added sugar from its matcha powder. Sales shot up 40% compared to last year. US Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. praised the move, saying the CEO shared plans to 'further MAHA its menu' (Make America Healthy Again).
5. Stores Are Getting a Makeover

Starbucks shops are being redesigned with a more stylish, cosy vibe. Think plush mustard chairs, olive benches, and wood-panelled walls. Niccol has said he wants Starbucks stores to feel welcoming whether you’re working, relaxing, or catching up with friends.
6. Fancier Drinks and Fresh Bakes

A new 'aperitivo-style' menu is in the works with sparkling drinks, mini snacks, and sippable coffee options. They’re also testing fresh-baked items, including a croissant that’s 'flakier and fluffier' than the current version.
